Revolution in the Footwear Industry: Discover DEMGY Group's Sustainable Innovation

In the ever-changing world of fashion and sustainability, DEMGY Group has once again distinguished itself with a breakthrough in the footwear industry.
This initiative embodies DEMGY Group's deep commitment to innovation and sustainability. By combining our expertise in the thermocompression of plastics with the Lonati Group's know-how in the knitting of shoe uppers, and by integrating Decathlon's ecological vision, the Reborn project is born.

An innovative, sustainable and responsible shoe

The Reborn shoe is much more than just a fashion statement. It embodies a radically different approach to footwear manufacturing, with an emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility. This innovative shoe combines a sock designed by Lonati Group with an outsole produced from plastic waste.

Reborn Project
The DEMGY Group's thermocompression press transforms this waste into a TPU outsole, composed of 70% recycled TPU from post-industrial and post-consumer waste. This process highlights DEMGY Group's expertise in polymer and composite processing, while reducing the footwear industry's carbon footprint. At the heart of the Reborn project is a deep commitment to eco-design. Right from the design phase, DEMGY Group integrates the end-of-life of products, promoting a holistic approach to sustainability. By rethinking the life cycle of footwear, DEMGY Group aims to reduce environmental impact while guaranteeing high-quality, high-performance products.

The 3R Principles: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

The Reborn project embodies the fundamental principles of the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. By using plastic waste as a raw material, this shoe significantly reduces dependence on new resources. Thanks to an innovative manufacturing process, the shoes incorporate recycled materials while offering exceptional quality and performance. What's more, the glue-free design allows easy disassembly, facilitating component recycling and contributing to the creation of a circular economy.
