The importance of competitive energy for reindustrialization
In this article, Pierre-Jean Leduc, President of DEMGY, highlights his findings on the industry's loss of competitiveness since the start of the war in Ukraine. Energy prices have tripled since 2019, making electricity more expensive in France than in Romania, where DEMGY has two plants. The author reminds us that competitive energy is essential for competitive industry. To revive industry in France, Pierre-Jean Leduc believes it is essential to relaunch the nuclear program while developing wind and solar power. He also encourages other manufacturers to become energy producers and invest in innovation, green industry and training. Reducing energy costs through photovoltaic self-consumption is a first step, but he insists that it's not enough to reindustrialize France.
