PCTFE / PTFCE (polychlorotrifluoroethylene)
With its exceptional properties, PCTFE has become the material of choice in demanding industries such as aerospace and cryogenics.
To take full advantage of the benefits of this fluorinated polymer, trust DEMGY, your expert in the processing and machining of high-performance engineering plastics.
PCTFE: properties and benefits
Commonly called PCTFE or PTFCE, polychlorotrifluoroethylene is commercially available under several trade names: Voltalef ®, Kel-F ®, Neoflon ®, Aclar ®, Halon ®, Fluon ®, Hostaflon ®, Plaskon ®. This fluorinated polymer has very interesting mechanical, chemical and thermal properties for critical environments.
With one more chlorine atom than PTFE and compatible with BAM oxygen, PCTFE is very chemically stable. It is resistant to many corrosive gases and is almost impervious to gases. The absence of hydrogen in its composition allows it to remain unaffected by possible attacks from oxidizing agents and certain active chemical products.
From a mechanical and thermal point of view, it exhibits excellent resistance to cryogenic temperatures, thanks to its low thermal expansion. It is also highly resistant to traction and creep. Furthermore, this thermoplastic has a high flammability resistance, as well as an almost zero moisture absorption property.
DEMGY accompanies you for all your needs in PCTFE and other engineering plastics
Using its expertise and know-how, DEMGY is now able to work with PCTFE according to the rules of the art. According to your needs, we can transform it by molding, by compression or by extrusion into bars, tubes or even plates.
We also have the skills and equipment to machine it to produce seals, valve seats, non-return joints... In addition to PTCFE, you can also call on us for all your needs for high performance parts in PTFE, PFA, PVDF, PI - Polyimide, PEI, PSU, ETFE, FEP, PES, filled PTFE, PPS or even PEEK
